Planetary Dialogues
The Planetary Dialogues are an informal and evolving space within the AI + Planetary Justice Alliance, created to foster open, unstructured conversations about the socio-environmental implications of AI. Rather than rigid panels or structured debates, these dialogues offer a low-barrier, accessible way for anyone—researchers, activists, artists, workers, and community members—to gather, share experiences, and think together about how AI shapes and is shaped by planetary justice concerns.
While entirely informal in nature, each Planetary Dialogue may be loosely organized around a central theme or provocation—such as "AI and Extractivism," "The Politics of AI Supply Chains," or "The Right to Refuse AI." These topics will serve as starting points rather than rigid structures, allowing discussions to evolve based on participants' interests, lived experiences, and critical perspectives.
Some dialogues may take the form of:
Drop-in virtual gatherings, where participants can share thoughts freely and listen to others without any expectations.
Loosely structured roundtables, where facilitators introduce a theme, but the conversation flows organically.
Creative or speculative sessions, imagining alternative futures for AI and planetary justice.
Stay tuned for upcoming Dialogues!
