Bella Raja is a social science researcher examining the life cycles and planetary impact of digital technologies. She has explored these topics through research on conflict mineral supply chains for AI hardware, electronic waste recycling and tech repair, and community impacts of resource extraction and AI infrastructure projects. At AIPJ, she works on the Below the Algorithm project, examining critical mining sites and raw materials for AI infrastructure and hardware.

Bella has a BAH in Science and Technology Studies (STS) from Stanford University and an MSc in Social Science of the Internet from the University of Oxford. Outside of her research, she works on promoting responsible tech development and entrepreneurship.
